Sustainable agriculture training day with students from Lycée du Forez

Students from the Lycée du Forez were able to attend their first day of sustainable agriculture training at the Albatross Foundation this Thursday, December 12, with whom a cooperation agreement was signed in December 2024.

It was an exceptional day of ecological gardening and aromatic plants. Here’s a look back at the highlights of the day!

Aurélien Adam, from Ferme de l’Oasis, shared his expertise on maintaining an ecological vegetable garden. He presented the essential tools needed to prepare the soil for winter, a crucial step in ensuring a healthy vegetable garden the following year. Participants were delighted to discover simple, effective techniques for protecting their soil while respecting the natural balance.

The afternoon began with a workshop led by Raphaëlle Franc, who guided us through the various steps required to care for a vegetable garden throughout the year. Participants then got to work planting lavender, rosemary and even a cork oak, bringing a touch of greenery and biodiversity to the garden.

The workshop concluded with a fascinating presentation on aromatic and medicinal plants, and their uses in the form of essential oils. Participants were able to learn more about the benefits of these plants for health and well-being.

Many thanks to Pépinière Vial for supplying the plants that made the workshop such a success!

This day, combining learning, practice and conviviality, was much appreciated by all participants.
