Albatross Foundation Declaration of Principles

VISION: A just world in which economic and social systems are sustainable, equitable, collaborative and innovative.

MISSION: To provide free education for young people on sustainable development, using scientific, fun and innovative tools and programs.

VALUES:

Sustainability: A future where solutions are regenerative, based on circular economies and respect for the planet.

Fairness: A just world is a sustainable world. We reject systems that exploit people or nature for short-term gain. Our actions are aimed at community solutions, fair wages and ethical partnerships.

Education & action from an early age: Young people are the best messengers: they influence their families, friends and communities throughout their lives. Early education shapes the way they act, work and lead.

Women, children & families: Women are often the guardians of land, water and community well-being. We support them and their families as key players in sustainable development. Children, as the most vulnerable members of society, need protection, access to education and care, and an environment in which they can flourish.

Innovation & ethical digital: We value the ethical use of digital technology and artificial intelligence: confidentiality, security, human and parental supervision must be guaranteed. Technology must serve humans, never replace them.

OBJECTIVES:

Promote the creation of Albatross Youth Leagues around the world, driven by the same principles and by young leaders, to implement Education for Sustainable Development projects in their own countries.

Develop our network of committed volunteers, experts in their field, and mobilized around our Mission through Albatross projects.

To be recognized as the first “i-Foundation”, with a project-by-project approach, a train-the-trainer method, and no fixed costs.
All our funding is dedicated to Mission projects – not administration.

1. We value education from the earliest age on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Young people are the most influential communicators: they can carry the message to their families, friends and communities today, and throughout their lives. Early education will shape the way they work, lead and interact with the world.

2. We value an education that inspires action and exemplarity. Knowledge without action is incomplete. Our educational programs go beyond theory, providing learners of all ages with concrete tools to implement real and lasting change in their communities.

3. We value respect for the environment. As stewards of this planet, we are responsible not only for our present actions, but also for the world we leave behind. Conservation and ethical innovation guide our approach to ensuring that future generations have a planet capable of sustaining all forms of life. Our programs focus on regenerative solutions and circular economies.

4. We value women and families. Women are often the primary guardians of land, water and community well-being. We therefore support women and families as leaders in sustainable development, particularly through educational initiatives.

5. We value children’s rights. Children, as vulnerable members of society, deserve special attention, protection and opportunities to flourish. All children must have access to education, healthcare and opportunities for personal development. These fundamental rights are pillars in the fight against poverty.

6. We value sustainability and fairness, which must go hand in hand. A just world is a sustainable world. We reject systems that exploit people or nature for short-term gain. Instead, we work for community solutions, fair wages and ethical partnerships.

7. We value an ethics of digital tools and AI based on moral principles and rigorous guidelines. Confidentiality, security and accountability must be guaranteed. Human and parental supervision must be protected so that digital tools do not replace essential human decisions.

8. We value equality for all, and in particular for the rights of children. Legality must be anchored in practices designed to ensure their protection, well-being and development. All children must be treated fairly, regardless of their origin, gender, ability or any other difference.

At the Albatross Foundation, our values live on through our programs, our partnerships and our daily choices with our volunteers dedicated to our Mission.
