Innovation for education and employment
The Fablab Connect project aims to equip the Douala IUT with additive manufacturing technologies (3D printing), while training students and teachers via a modern, inclusive FabLab. This initiative aims to :
- strengthen local technological skills,
- stimulate business start-ups,
- make the IUT a regional center of excellence in 3D manufacturing in Central Africa.
A bridge between regions and cultures
Accompanied by a pair of sponsors from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Amzir was able to build a concrete innovation project that met the competition’s criteria: intercultural rapprochement, realistic innovation and sustainable impact on the territories involved.
Why this Innovation Trophy?
The competition jury, which each year awards prizes in five categories (Innovation, Attractiveness, Citizenship, Peace, JA4EVER), particularly praised the originality, feasibility and potential impact of the Fablab Connect project.
Competition background
Every year since 1999, the Young Ambassadors Program has mobilized international students, sponsored by economic players in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, to develop innovative projects with international resonance. Winners receive personalized support, training, a budget and even a trip to their home country to strengthen economic and cultural ties.
Amzir Bassir Buba’s victory with Fablab Connect illustrates a youth driven by innovation in the service of sustainable development, social inclusion and international entrepreneurship. This Innovation Trophy symbolizes a reconnection between local know-how and global initiative, driven by the talents of tomorrow.
